SOCOM Special Forces - PlayStation 3 - EB Games Australia
Socom 4 Special Forces -
Most of the dedicated sony players have heard of socom from back in the day of the Sony PS2 with there debut on that system.
Now branching on to the next generation of Sony they are back in action the Special Forces have come out to save the world you’ve got 14 days and 14 missions. Saving the world is back in the hands of the next generation of Special Force more often referred to as Black ops or the unit for those who watched the show the unit.
Your HQ has been taken out you meet with another team of army who are known to you as Gold Team they start to fight with your commander, and say we’ll wait for back up, you say you mean back up that’s not showing up HQ was blown up and we saw it with our own eyes.
Weaponry is nice in this series, Snipers are optional for those missions that require the direct hits sadly their is not a lot of choice with snipers there is only two I prefer the second option. Your Covert working recon missions as well as other type of missions you country is counting on you, Australia is counting on you we’re at war and your fighting that war, your the special force the unsung heroes that on paper don’t exist, but in real life your mates think your pushing paper when your really in enemy lines generally without back up other than a small team of five, one of you dead abort the mission or go on you guys are hard core your the best Australia has to offer when it comes to the army.
Overall - 9/10
Conclusion: Weapons could do with some work especially in the snipers I’d like more than two options and maybe some silencers for some of the weapons, considering the burst gives a way your location, there is no pistols in this game either I’d have liked one or two most games would’ve had some side arms. The missions are detailed and are very long winded which is good it keeps the played involved in the game. The sounds actually sound more real than Medal of honor or even your COD’s which is good as a sound tech you tend to love and respect sound more, but it sounds like I’m in the core of the fighting and wells was right next to me. It’s one of my favorite all time shooters and is worth the $90 odd bucks. I was a tad disappointed that unlike the PSP versions of Socom, they didn’t have a playable demo on the Playstation Store Network.
PLEASE NOTE: People say the game play is better with the PS move and gun, I didn’t have the move or the gun so I’m not reviewing it on that but it was pretty awesome game play just on it’s own without the move and gun.
